Your choice of driveway gates may depend on the physical layout of your property. For example, if car parking is desired in close proximity to the gate entrance on the inside of the property, a sliding gate might be the best option because swing gates need much more room to open in. Then, a sufficient amount of room would be needed beside the driveway for the sliding gate to slide open.
A major consideration when choosing residential gates is balancing convenience with security. A purely convenient arrangement might involve an automated driveway gate that controls vehicle access to your property, with alternative pedestrian ingress that is always accessible. An intercom communication system at the gate would be redundant in this situation.
If you are considering a more secure perimeter arrangement, and as automated gates are locked once closed, you will need to ask the obvious question: “How will visitors access the property or get our attention once the automated gate system is installed?”
At this point most people will choose a simple audio intercom system that features a call station at the gate with an intercom handset in the house that chimes when activated. This permits two-way communication and the ability to release the driveway gate(s) from inside the house.
Most clients would opt for a numeric keypad at the gate in addition to an intercom. This allows close friends and family, housekeepers, gardeners, etc to access the property via a PIN number. All our numeric keypads allow you to select, install and delete PIN numbers as needed to retain maximum security and convenience.
Our standard automated gate systems also come with two remote controls – more can be added if required.

All our automated gate systems are able to interface remote controls into existing automatic garage doors.
This is achieved by installing a compatible radio receiver into existing garage door operator(s), permitting the supply of remote controls with buttons to open the various gates and doors. The most common system is a multi-channel remote control with one button to open the gate and the second button to open the garage door. Our standard systems can facilitate multiple garage doors.
For your automated residential gates, choose from our double swing gates, single swing gates or sliding gates:
Double swing gates provide a luxury feel as they open, and generally the opening time is lessened as there are two gates opening together.
Single swing gates (e.g. one single gate covering the full driveway access) are usually the most economical option to automate as only one drive mechanism is installed on the system.
Sliding gates have the advantage of taking up a minimal amount of space when opening, and are less prone to collision. As well as single sliding gates, we install sliding concertina gates and sliding bi-parting gates.
We offer low voltage pedestrian gate lock control via magnetic clamping devices.
The gate can be released via buttons on audio/video intercom handsets, numeric keypads, hidden push-buttons, remotes, etc.
Locks are suitable for steel, wooden and commercial type pipe and mesh gates.
Our after-sale service includes prompt breakdown and collision response and regular maintenance of your automated driveway gates.
